Field Of Honor
The Field of Honor was introduced into the Warrior's Weekend "Family" in 2009 when the Executive Board gave COL (Ret) Mike Petrash the "go ahead" to build what was then called a "Healing Field". This Field was patterned after a like display in which COL Petrash had participated in 2006 at the annual Black Hills Motorcycle Rally in Sturgis, SD. This first Field consisted of 550 flags. It was located in the vacant lot next to Faith Family church, on the corner of Mockingbird and Sam Houston Sts. The Field was moved to its current location (next to Parkway Church -4802 John Stockbauer Dr, Victoria, Texas) in 2015. For a month in the fall, the Field is covered with flags, each one honoring an individual veteran (living or deceased) or a currently serving military person. However, many other events take place throughout the year at the Field and it is open 24/7, 365 days a year for the public to visit.
